In with the old

Time to break out your crimping irons again, a great one is the Revlon Perfect Heat Essentials 1" Gold Crimping Iron which you can find almost anywhere for around 25$! The new trend is not to crimp the whole head but a few pieces here and there to add texture to your style, also teasing the hair creates a fuller rock 'n roll feel.

Fanned Out

This is a very big look this season with the heavy bang, a lot of layers, and a few different natural tones. The evolution of the color consist of 9.3, 9.33, 10. 21 and 10.31. A good brown alternative would be levels 6.14, 8, and 7.14, a great red alternative would be levels 6.4, 7.43, 7.4.

Barneys New York took my by storm with their CO-OP line! The hair is looking fierce in the lab where experiments never hurt! We should be seeing variations of this cut all fall, very straight edgy lines! In fact I'm so inspired I'm off to cut my bangs!

Goth Tribal Warrior

MOST CREATIVE LOOK this season was the hair done by french hairstylist Odile Gilbert for the Mulleavys and their Rodarte label. Inspired by death valley the look they went for was a women stranded and mangled and burnt alive. The hair seemed a cobweb of leather, yarn, and lace. LOVE IT!

Thank you Michael Bastian for staging a full-fledged runway show for Spring/Summer 2010. I could not wait to see this very look for fashion week, BUSINESS! I love when a greaser puts a suit on.

Go to Michael Bastian for more looks!

Simon Spurr also took the Business rout this season, Spurr said he was inspired by a host of things, the late '60s, early '70s, vintage Helmut Newton photographs, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and manicured gardens among them and threw in a descriptor you don't often hear in menswear these days: "romantic." WELL DONE!

TRON Hair

The group Ladytron quietly made a global impact both visually and stylistically. Their live performances immediately set them apart by playing all those exotic instruments live! I have to give it to Ladyron they have a little bit for everyone with their hairstyles. We have the scene haircut that I've always adored, the mod look that will never get old, one of the hottest pixies out, and the you have your old school Beatles look which is coming back strong! Kudos Ladytron.

Women's hair trends of 2009 are heading back in time to the classic 1940/1950s!

This shoot features model Viktoriya Sasonkina and was photographed by Steven Meisel with styling by Andrew Richardson. It appeared in Vogue Italia back in September 2008 but is no less relevant now.

In the Beginning

Hello and welcome! This Blog was created because of my obsession with the hair trends of today. It's so fascinating to me, all the different looks that are out there. I plan to keep everyone up on the cutting edge of hair fashion!
